The organisers of Sunburn in a post shared on social media after their last year's three day music festival held at Anjuna-Vagator had clearly said that they would henceforth never organise this festival again in Goa. Unfortunately, some latest news reports say that the same organisers are now planning to hold the Sunburn Music Festival in South Goa this time from December 28 to 30. Which means that the organisers must have already done a deal with our BJP government and due to which we are seeing both Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte issuing their own conflicting statements. Well, I feel that the reason why the organisers of Sunburn want to hold this festival during the Christmas/New Year period is because they know that the 'law' goes for a complete toss during that particular period. I personally feel that festivals like Sunburn which have never given any benefits for our locals, Goan music artists but have only helped our politicians to make fast money, should not be allowed to be held in the state.
