Environmental disasters are increasing yearly and it's scientifically proven that the world is heating up faster than ever. Massive forest fires around the world, ice melting/glaciers collapsing/flooding in many parts of the world including Nepal-Tibet recently, sea levels increasing including the India/Goa coast etc yet we are so engrossed in many un-necessary things instead of environmental preservation being the main issue; including making it a political demand. We just have to see in Goa how the ruling politicians are totally out of sync with the No. 1 threat i.e. climate change facing the planet. These ruling Goan politicians for the purpose of maximising corruption and making maximum returns from real estate development, are busy with converting land (via Sec 39 A), destroying hills, filling waterbodies/fields/low lying areas, allowing decimation of our mangroves/sand dunes/coasts etc. And to keep us distracted these ruling politicians and allies bring up the language issue, anti- conversion, fake nationalistic propaganda, colonial Portuguese rule etc. I see no hope for the planet and Goa particularly in this case; if people do not use their ability to think and see the bigger picture.
