Dil Chahta Hai starring Aamir Khan, Akshay Khanna and Saif Ali Khan went on to become a cult film and launched Farhan Akthar with a bang. And the director/actor/musician has now announced that there could be a sequel to the film with an all female cast this time around. And indeed, going from the trend in Bollywood, making sequels seems to be the way to go. In fact there are quite a few sequels in the making right now that fans are eagerly looking forward too. Rock On!! 2
Ever since news that the hugely popular music film was getting a sequel was announced people just couldn't keep calm. Every launch, be it the teaser, trailer or a song has been met with loads of excitement. This time around Shraddha Kapoor will be joining the film which sees Farhan Akthar, Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli reprising their roles. Scheduled to release on November 11, the film is said to be focusing on the North East scenario in the country. Apart from this Prachi Desai also has a small role in it. As part of the promotions, the film band Magik has actually been doing live concerts around the country.
Force 2
Here's another sequel that is all set to release this month as well. The film which has been directed by Abhinay Deo stars John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha is a sequel to the 2011 film which was a remake of the Tamil film Kaakha Kaakha. After an action packed Akira, the film will see Sonakshi Sinhya once again getting into action mode. The first installment saw John and Genelia D'Souza is the lead roles and went on to mint 25 crore at the box office.
Tum Bin 2
This month seems to be all about the sequels as November 18 will also see the release of yet another sequel Tum Bin 2 which has been directed by Anubhav Sinha. The new film stars Neha Sharma, Aditya Seal and Aashim Gulati. It will also see TV star Mouni Roy best known for her role in Naagin making her film debut as she has been roped in for the song Nachna Aunda Nahin which was reportedly recreated in five days.
Kahaani 2
The trailer has definitely got everyone eagerly waiting for this thriller film. After receiving a threatening call about a little girl, the film follows Vidya Balan's character who rushes out of her house only to meet with an accident which leaves her in a coma. While at first it looks like a standard hit and run case, as Arjun Rampal in the role of a police inspector digs deeper he discovers a lot of murky details. There has been a lot of talk that Amitabh Bachchan also has a role in the film, although this has not been officially confirmed or denied as yet.
Jolly LLB 2
This time around Akshay Kumar will take over the role of Arshad Warsi in the sequel to the award winning courtroom drama directed by Subhash Kapoor which had earned 30 crore at the box office. The new film, which also stars Huma Qureshi, will arrive in theatres on February 10, 2017.
Baahubali : The Conclusion
As soon as fans had seen the first film they wanted the sequel pronto. But they has had to wait a fair bit for it. The sequel to the film which is slated to release on April 28, 2017 will see Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati and Tamannaah Bhatia returning to the epic historic saga directed by S.S. Rajamouli and is expected to outdo the Rs 600 worldwide collections of the first part.
