These noble words were uttered by Bollywood, sorry, Hollywood hotshot Priyanka Chopra in an anti-pollution advertisement, and they are now a source of trouble for the actress.
The wedding of Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra at Umaid Bhawan palace was a big affair. And lots of money went up in smoke. Literally, wedding ceremony of Priyanka and Nick, was followed by an impressive fireworks display which caught the eye of -you guessed it- Twitter! Here was Priyanka campaigning against firecrackers during Diwali, but when it came to her own wedding, the sky over Umaid Bhawan palace was exploding red with fireworks.
And let us also consider the fact that Priyanka, who says she is asthmatic, is the brand ambassador of Breathfree, an asthma related campaign which busts myths around asthma and promotes the use of inhalers as a means of proper and immediate treatment. Twitter users were quick to take a note of this, and stated that this was hypocrisy. Memes and jokes soon began making rounds on social media, where users sarcastically concluded the medicine company which had put out the anti-pollution ad featuring Priyanka had made such good medicines that Priyanka’s health had now improved, and she could withstand the smoke!
The gifts exchanged during the wedding were also just as impressive. Nick Jonas’ mother Denise Jonas gifted her daughter-in-law a pair of earrings worth over Rs55 lakh as a wedding gift, as per reports. The earrings, from Van Cleef & Arpels, are made of gold with diamonds of “exceptional quality”, giving each petal “unique purity and brightness”, reports said. The earrings reportedly have 170 stones and are of 6.7 carats.
And the celebrations are not over with Umaid Bhawan. The couple will get married once again in a church in Los Angeles, Earlier, they had a Christian style wedding on December 1 followed by a traditional Indian wedding ceremony reportedly on December 2. Nick’s father Paul Kevin Jonas Sr officiated their Christian wedding ceremony.
We do not blame you, Priyanka, when there is so much money and euphoria, around, one can easily lose thought of things such as principles. Some people say principles and money do not always go hand in hand, but that’s another matter.
