My life in the army

Name: Odelia Nikita

Class: 10

School: The King’s School

I’m a 14 year old girl studying in the 10th std. PresentlyI’m in The Kings School ,Margao. Being in the army, this is my 10th school!! Ilanded in Goa on the 1st of April and joined this school from the 3rd of April.

I’m here to tell u about my life in the army. The day I wasborn my dad was posted to the borders of India- so he saw me exactly after 42days of my birth! Well we didn’t join him immediately. He used to come once ina few months to visit me and my mum. After 2 years we went for a short trip toSarsawa where my father was doing his training.

My 2nd birthday was celebrated in Dehradun and my firstschool was The Montesseri School. Then finally, at the age of 3, I accompaniedmy father wherever he went. 3rd birthday in Mumbai with my family and mygrandmothers, and so was my 4th birthday.

Then my dad got his transfer to Jorhat, Assam- where mylittle brother was born; and we studied in Rhino Kindergarten run by the army.

Then we shifted to Solmara also in Assam), where I studiedin my 1st and only Army Scool. After 3 years we got shifted to Mhow (MadhyaPradesh) and for another three years I studied in Wishwood Cottage School.

Then we were transferred to the capital city, Delhi, wherefor 1 and a half year I studied in Loreto Convent. For 3 yrs we were inPathankot (Punjab), where I studied in St. Joseph’s Convent school.

Now finally I come back to the present, The King’s School.

At times places, people and schools resulted in adjustmentproblems; but I enjoy the excitement of seeing the places of India which Iwould have never discovered, meeting new people and making new friends (whichwould never have been possible if my dad wasn’t in the army). My life is filledwith memories and stories of adventure and fun, of laughs and tears- but thoseI will save for another time.
