When Water Resources Development Minister Subhashbab Shirodkar hopped from one village to another in the Benaulim constituency this week, he was accompanied by local AAP MLA Venzybab Viegas and WRD officials. What, however, was the talking point during the Minister’s visit was the absence of village sarpanchas. Questions were raised about whether the sarpanchas were not kept in the loop over the Minister’s visit or whether they were preoccupied with other engagements. If a sarpanch is to be believed, he had no idea about the Minister's visit to his village.
