Cycling club Propedalerz will be organising their second annual, Duathlon event titled ‘Vorrad 5:55’ in South Goa on Sunday, April 3.
The event has been conceptualised to introduce cyclists to running and runners to cycling as a form of cross-training for athletes, the organisers said in a press release. The April 3 event will see a cycling route of 55kms, starting from Benaulim beach heading south and back. After completing the cycling leg, the participants (16 years and above) would have to complete a beach run of either 2.5km or 5km as per their choice and finish at the Valonia's beach shack, where they will be served a buffet breakfast and awarded medals and e-certificates.
Propedalerz had organised the first edition of ‘Vorrad’ in January 2021, which had seen the participation of a total of 100 athletes. The registration for ‘Vorrad 5.55’ began on March 16 and a total of 150 athletes have already registered. The registrations will close at 200 participants to ensure smooth conduct of the event, the club said.
