Goa Engineering College and Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Khandola secured wins on the Day 19 of the Goa University Inter Collegiate Cricket Men Championship 2024-25.

In the first match, Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi, showcased their prowess by defeating GVM’s Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education, Farmagudi, by a comfortable 6 wickets. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Goa College of Engineering's decision proved fruitful.

GVM’s Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education posted a total of 153/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Ved Patel's solid 58 off 42 balls and Gaurang Gaonkar's composed 39 off 43 balls provided the backbone of their innings. However, the disciplined bowling of Prabhakar Shetye (2/16) and Tushar Ghatwal (2/22) restricted them from setting a larger target.

Chasing 154 for victory, Goa College of Engineering displayed remarkable batting depth. Shreyash Usgaonkar's explosive 55 off just 32 balls, coupled with Smit Dalvi's steady 47 off 54 balls, guided their team to 155/4 in 19.3 overs. Despite Jagdish Somji's efforts (2/30), the target proved insufficient. Shreyash Usgaonkar was named the Man of the Match for his blistering half century.

The second match saw Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Khandola, secure a convincing 6-wicket victory over Dempo Charities Trust’s Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College Of Commerce & Economics, Cujira.

S.S. Dempo College, after winning the toss and electing to bat, struggled against Khandola’s disciplined bowling attack. They were bundled out for a paltry 98 in 18.5 overs. Prashant Patil (34 off 44) and Devanshu Mangeshkar (15 off 19) were the only batsmen to offer some resistance. However, Narendra Tari's exceptional bowling performance of 5/11 completely dismantled their batting lineup, with Rishab Phadte chipping in with 1/13.

In reply, Government College Khandola chased down the target with ease, reaching 102/4 in just 12.2 overs. Vrushab Gaude's aggressive 51 off 39 balls and Sarvesh Sawant's quick-fire 27 off 14 balls ensured a swift victory. Yash Manjrekar (2/30) and Arkhit Patro (1/4) tried to stem the flow of runs, but the target was too small.
