Ambelim Queens continued their winning streak as they beat Black Arrows 2-0 in the Sevens Women’s Football Festival, organised by Goa Sevens and Ambelim Sports Club, played at Ambelim Sports Complex, Ambelim
on Tuesday.
Karishma Shirvoikar yet again impressed for her side as she scored a brace to help the Queens register their fourth straight win. Ambelim Queens broke the deadlock just before half time as Karishma Shirvoikar tapped in a long ball from Nevilla, 1-0.
The second half witnessed a tougher fight with the Arrows fighting hard to make it square. Ansiva Vaz had a chance to make it level but her header was placed high from the post.
Nevilla Colaco had an easy attempt to double the side’s lead but she missed an open target as her tap above the keeper hit the crossbar. But Karishma made no mistake to complete her brace as she scored from close, 2-0.
