Anuradha wins Cycling Goa’s first Summer Cross Country race

Anuradha Guglani of Raia won Cycling Goa’s first Summer XC (cross country) cycle race held in the Mhadei jungles on Sunday.

Taking full advantage of the ‘handicap system’ where-in the more experienced cyclists started 40 minutes behind the rookies, Anuradha beat back the more experienced riders to claim top spot.

She was followed by Sundaram Narayanan and Delfim Silva of Panaji in second and third places respectively.

A total of 36 cyclists including 3 women from across Goa took part in this first part of Cycling Goa’s three-part Summer XC series. The second race will take place on April 23 and the third and final race on May 7. To know more email [email protected] or call on 9167991566.

Sporting Clube down Dempo to enter semis

In the last league match of Group B played at Don Bosco grounds on Sunday, Sporting Clube de Goa beat their city rivals Dempo SC 2-0 to enter the play-offs of the GFA U-18 League.
