The Goa Judo Association President Gurudatta Bhakta came in for severe criticism from several parents of the judokas from Margao who were denied a genuine opportunity by the Goa Judo Association chief to register or renew as players of Goa Judo Association. The Senior Judo Nationals are scheduled to be held in Punjab from December 2 to 7 and as it is customary, the judokas have to be first register their names to give trials for selections to participate at the Nationals. However, in an arbitrary manner, Bhakta without any valid reasons rejected Margao judokas Shaik Aslam. An aggrieved parent told media persons that Bhakta acted indecent manner and challenge that Margao judokas will not be allowed to participate.
"Bhakta was very arrogant and told me not to ask questions. He even said that he doesn't mind losing his post but will not permit Margao judokas to participate for the selection trials," stated Shaikh.

"We are meeting the Chief Minister and Sports Minister and will explain them with a representation, demanding the immediate dissolution of Goa Judo Association headed by Bhakta and appoint an ad-hoc committee to provide transparency in the functioning of the association," explained Rodrigues and further added that we will also request the chief minister to order a probe in the financial irregularities made by Judo Association president Bhakta.
In the representation addressed to Defence Minister, Union Sports Minister, South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, Caetano R Silva, Benaulim MLA and President of Judo Federation of India the judokas pointed out the financial mess the GJA was in and alleged that Bhakta had refused to permit Goan boys to appear for selection trials for Lusofonia Games 2014 which Goa hosted. A judo coach openly accused the president of indulging into favouritism and resorting to double standards.
Another notable point made in the reprsentation was that GJA General Secretary Sukhdeep Singh, Treasurer, Kripesh Vengurlekar and Joint Secretary Girish Pednekar in a press not had alleged that Bhata's persistent infringement of the association rules and his undemocratic behaviour had proved detrimental to the health and harmony of the GJA.
