Calangute, Vasco play out 1-1 draw

The Port Towners were hungry for a goal and soon managed to slot the ball home in the fourth minute as Clive Coelho made a run in the rival territory and sent in a perfect ball to Shubert Pereira who caught the goalkeeper off guard and slammed into the top corner of the goal to make it 1-0.
Stung by the reverse, the Calangute side went all out in search of an equaliser but failed as Joston's shot was saved by the rival keeper in the 17th minute. The Calangute side levelled terms soon afterwards as when hard-working Joston Pereira sent a perfect cross to Josley Dias who neatly headed the ball home to make it 1-1.
Calangute Association dominated the play afterwards and missed a couple of chances at the goal, as the Vasco keeper Suresh Lamani was brilliant between the sticks. Suresh kept away a goal-bound free-kick from Joston.
Post resumption, Calangute Association reinforced, attacked strategically and missed an opportunity as Bersal Viegas' header missed the goal as Godfrey made a goal line clearance. At the other end, Vasco's goal scorer Schubert made an attempt at goal in the dying minutes but the Calangute keeper parried the ball away to safety as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
