Datta Kambli clinches South Goa chess c’ship
The winners of the Late Suprabha alias Mangala Mukund Naik South Goa Open Rapid Chess Championship.

Datta Kambli of Mormugao taluka clinched the Late Suprabha alias Mangala Mukund Naik South Goa Open Rapid Chess Championship and remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.
In the last round, he drew with Sanjil Hoble to register the top spot. Ishan Pagi of Salcete taluka secured 2nd place after he beat Sequeira Alex and Jennica Sequiera also from Salcete taluka finished in 3rd place after beating Rudresh Fadte.
The tournament was organised by Mormugao Taluka Chess Association at Deepvihar High School on June 18 and was sponsored by Mukund Naik in the fond memory of his wife Late Suprabha alias Mangala Naik.
The tournament attracted a record participation of 203 players from South District out of which 47 were rated players.
The prizes were given at the hands of chief guest Vinay Tendulkar (MP Rajya Sabha - South), Kishor Bandekar (President MTCA), Mukund Kambli (Secretary MTCA), Shairendra Naik (Secretary GCA), Mukund Naik (Sponsor), Swapnil Hoble (Chief arbiter).
