Fatorda Veterans drub Navelim Veterans 3-0

Mahesh Kamble of Fatorda gave his best for his team while Claudio Dias did well for Navelim Veterans. In the 10th minute, Mahesh Kamble sent a long ball to Savio Furtado, who connected a short pass to Andrew Araujo and he shot from close range to make it 1-0 for Navelim.

Andrew Araujo netted the second goal with a placement shot off Mahesh Kamble's assist in the 15th minute. Then, Sukhdev Arwade of Navelim connected a well-measured ball to Claudio Dias but the latter's shot hit the Fatorda crossbar in the 29th minute.

Substitute Antonio Crasto netted the third goal for Navelim Veterans in the 35th minute with a powerful shot. Substitute Jose Luis of Navelim took a long- ranger but failed to find the Fatorda net in the 48th minute.

Goa Velha outgun South Korea
Goa Velha Sports Club stunned United Sports Club of Seraulim 1-0 to enter the finals of the All Goa Inter-village Seraulim Village Panchayat Cup Football Tournament organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim and played at SAG ground Seraulim.

Goa Velha took the lead in the sixth minute when Vikranth Manguelkar, after receiving a pass from Uday Kundaikar, shot from close past the Seraulim goalkeeper. Goa Velha came close to scoring in the 17th minute but the Seraulim keeper made a brilliant save diving to his right. During the half-time,

Goa Velha led 1-0. The second half was dominated by Seraulim but they were unable to break down the Goa Velha defence which stood strong. The finals will be played on March 5 between Goa Velha and Cuncolim Union at 4.30 pm.
Shreeja wins level wise gymnastics medals
Shreeja Shailesh Naik won two gold medals, one silver and one bronze medal in All India Level wise Gymnastics Competition 2023, organised by Infinity Gymnastic LLP, at Pune, Maharashtra recently.

She won the gold medals in floor exercise, the silver in vaulting table and the bronze in all round in 2-WAG under 7-9 years category. The Navelim, Margao-based girl, studying in Perpetual Succour Convent High School in grade 3, is the daughter of Shailesh and Jyoti. She is a bright student and also likes to participate in marathons and football.
Fencing trials at Taleigao on March 5
The Goa Fencing Association will organise selection trials to pick fencers in men's and women's categories at Durgawadi Panchayat Ground, Taleigao on March 5 from 8 am onwards.

The interested may come to the venue and contact the coach, Deepak Rajput (8668505629/9545439041), or Kushal Das (7517225610). The selected fencers will participate in the 33rd Senior National Fencing Championship to be held in Pune, Maharashtra from March 24 to 28. The fencers should carry personal fencing swords, headgear and other related fencing attire/kit for the trials.
