Velsao Sports & Cultural Club registered a fluent 3-1 win over Sesa FA while Vasco Sports Club defeated 10-man Panjim Footballers 3-1 in the GFA Goa Professional League on Friday.
Velsao SCC moved to 11 points from 10 games, the same as Sesa FA who stayed in seventh position. In the match played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, the team from South Goa scored through Shario Gomes, K Vinoth and Imran Khan. For Sesa FA, Mohammed Faheez converted from the penalty spot.
Meanwhile, Beevan D’Mello smashed a superb hat-trick as Vasco beat Panjim Footballers at Nagoa ground. With the result, Vasco SC moved to six points from 10 games while Panjim Footballers remained on eight points from similar outings.
Beevan gave Vasco SC the lead in the 21st minute and Shridhar Naidu scored for the Panaji team. Panjim’s Dhiraj Chouhan was sent off with a straight red card just before the break. At the break, the scores were level 1-1. Playing with a man down was always going to be difficult for Panjim and they were punished by Beevan in the final quarter of the game, where he scored twice (74’ and 80’) to complete his hat-trick.
