Margao: Joe Cookies Loutolim Veterans advanced to the quarterfinals of the S. Mini Mart Seraulim Veterans Cup, after overcoming Benaulim Veterans 4-2 in the tie-breaker, organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim, at the church ground.
Both goalkeepers, Savio Fernandes for Benaulim Veterans and Manoj Kesakar for Joe Cookies Loutolim, played crucial roles in keeping the score level during regular time with impressive saves.
In the tie-breaker, Joe Cookies Loutolim outperformed Benaulim Veterans, with successful penalties from Mark Fernandes, Tony Antao, Joao Colaco and Agostinho Cardozo. Benaulim Veterans' goals came from Nicholas Rodrigues and Alric Fernandes.
