Madgaon Royals and Rangers to clash for Alcon GSB Unity Cup in finale today

Madgao Royals defeated Sinq Rangers, while the latter thrashed Antruz Strikers to enter the final of the Alcon GSB Unity Cup T20 Cricket Tournament. In the first semi-final at the MCC ground in Margao on Saturday, Rangers won by 8 wickets and 41 balls, while Margao won by 6 wickets and 21 balls to spare. The tournament is being organized by Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust in association with Goa Saraswat Samaj. The final will be played on Sunday.

In the first semi-final, Sinq Rangers posted a challenging 169 for eight on the back of a 59-run fifth-wicket stand between Ved Mahambre and Sanath Mhapne. Adi made an impact, taking 3 wickets. Opener Adi, Captain Damodar Pai Patnekar, Aditya Prabhugaonkar, and Sanat Prabhudesai contributed significantly to the team's victory scoring in the mid-thirties. Madgaon Royals won in just 16.3 overs.

In the second semi-final, Antruz Strikers innings ended at 106 runs in 19 overs. After a strong position of 62 for 1 in 8.1 overs, their middle order collapsed hampering their progress. Anish Prabhudesai took 5 wickets for 15 runs to knock the undefeated team out of the tournament. Rangers won in just 13.1 overs on the back of a stellar performance by the Top Order Trio. Anish Prabhudesai was adjudged man of the match for his Fifer.
