A four-goal blitz, including a hat-trick, by Ivan Fernandes helped Our Lady of Health High School, Cuncolim humble Assumpta Convent High School, Sarzora 5-0 and seal a place in the the final of Union of Chinchinim Villagers Junior Cup inter-school football tournament organized by Union of Chinchinim Villagers at Church grounds, Chinchinim on Thursday. Our Lady of Health led 2-0 at the breather.
Our Lady of Health stamped their authority early in in the game and kept their opponents on their toes. But they did not have to wait too long for the breakthrough when striker Ivan Fernandes' rasping shot hit the rival defender's leg and eluded the rival goalkeeper in the 7th minute. Spurred by the early success, Our Lady of Health teased and tormented the rival defense with sporadic raids and doubled the lead in the 18th minute when his well executed free-kick beat the rival goalkeeper hands down. Changing ends, Our Lady of Health started off from where they had left the first half and within the 12th minute they made it 3-0. Ivan made a solo run and beat the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot. Three goals up, Our Lady of Health did not drop their guard and continued to raid. Six minutes later, Jatin Fernandes made it 4-0 with with neat finish. Ivan drove the final nail into rival coffin to complete the rout in the 25th minute. Our Lady of Health will meet Mount Mary's High School, Chinchinim in the final on July 18.
