Manas Mavericks recorded their first win in PGML 2.0 on Saturday, despite a heroic six-wicket haul by RC Goa bowler Om Fadte, even as a quickfire 38 in 25 balls by lower-order batsman Abhijit Bhandare saw defending champions Prescon Panthers defeat Baale Tigers by four wickets in the ongoing T20 league at the Panjim Gymkhana grounds in Panaji.
RC Goa bowled out Manas Mavericks in 20 overs for 139 runs, after the latter's lower batting order crumbled after a solid performance by its top four batsmen, with both openers Ilyias Naroo and Sameer Chodankar scoring 35 and 36 runs before retiring out.
In a stunning spell, RC Goa’s Fadte took six wickets in three overs, giving away just nine runs. RC Goa however could only notch 123 on the scoreboard before they were bowled out in 16.5 overs. The Prescon Panthers restricted the Tigers to 133 before completing the chase in 17.4 overs for the loss of six wickets.
