MARGAO: Quepem Veterans edged past Fatorda Veterans 1-0 to book their place in the final of the Curtorim Veterans Cup 2026, organised by Curtorim United Veterans, at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Wednesday.
Fatorda Veterans had the first clear chance to take the lead, but Francisco Andrade’s left-footed effort from inside the box narrowly missed the target. Quepem’s Joe Rose Olivera also came close but failed to find the net before the break.
The second half saw both sides push forward in search of the breakthrough, but the deadlock remained intact until the closing stages. Joe Rose Olivera finally found the decisive moment for Quepem, calmly placing the ball into the net to seal a 1-0 victory and send his team into the final.
Mauricio Pereira, a football enthusiast from Qatar, presented the Man of the Match award to Joe Rose Olivera of Quepem Veterans.
