Three superb goals from Joyson, Princston and Standly sufficed to silence Salgaocar and give Sporting Clube a smooth passage into the finals of the GFA U-18 tournament.
In the first semi-finals played at Duler Stadium today both teams  matched each other for the first ten minutes before  Joyson sent a left footer from the top of the box out of reach of Salgaocar keeper Vialli into the back of the nets, after he was fed  by Trijoy, following a move initiated by Osbern, to  give Sporting the
coveted lead (1-0).
The first session ended with  Sporting holding on to their 1-0 lead and  with both teams engaging in mid-field skirmishes without really testing the rival keepers.
Sporting started the second session with a bang scoring twice in the first ten minutes.  Sporting skipper Princeton consolidated the lead in the 51st minute showcasing his talent by creating space at the top of the Salgaocar box and bending a  right footer  into the top corner of the goal past a hapless Vialli (2-0).
A few minutes later it was the turn of striker Standly to make the issue really sfe for Sporting,  as he latched onto a perfect defense splitting aerial ball  from Princeton, to find the nets with a deft placement (3-0).
Salgaocar did not give up the fight lying down and came at their rival with all guns blazing with their midfieild trio of Kaushik, Josbon and Chaitan holding possession and feeding their upfront players.
But all their moves fizzled out on top of the Sporting box where Casel and Danish stood out with their timely tackles and positional play.
Sporting now await the winners of the semi-finals between Churchill Brothers and Sesa  Academy to be played on May 22 at Duler Stadium.  The finals are slated for May 27 at Duler.
