PANAJI: DCT’s Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College (Autonomous), Cujira, secured the Runners-Up Position (Second Place) at the recently hosted Inter-College Chess Tournament. The event was organized by the college's Department of Physical Education & Sports and the Rotaract Club in collaboration with the Tiswadi Taluka Chess Association to celebrate World Chess Day.
Competing against 19 top colleges across Goa in a 5-round Swiss Rapid format, the host college team delivered an outstanding performance, bagging the Second-Place Trophy along with a cash prize of ₹3,000.
The core student team representing S.S. Dempo College comprised Abir Kamat, Huentemil De Oliveira, Sahil Gawas, Akhil Naik, and Swaroop Suthar.
