CAC Cansaulim edged past Fr Agnelo YSC of Paroda by a solitary goal to win the 5th Martin’s Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Betalbaim Sporting Club at Panchayat ground, Betalbatim on Sunday. The all-important goal of the match was scored by Agnelo D’Souza in the final attended by a large festive crowd.
CAC Cansaulim pocketed Rs 80,060 while Fr Agnel had to settle for a prize of Rs 60,060. Fr Adrian Furtado, Parish Priest of Betalbatim, was the chief guest and handed over the prizes in the presence of Carafina Pereira, proprietor of Martin’s Corner. Earlier, Dr Luella Alfonso and Adv Mavlon Afonso were felicitated.
