MARGAO: Chandor Club edged past Sao Jose de Areal 2-1 to enter the quarterfinals of the 43rd Gold Silver rolling trophy intervillage football tournament, organised by Navelim Sporting Club, at Rosary church ground, Navelim, on Saturday .

Sao Jose de Areal netted two quick goals through Dryan Fernandes and Alreach Piexito in the sixth and 11th minutes respectively while Sao Jose de Areal pulled a goal back through Daryl Costa in the 18th minute.

Constapaul Rodrigues, executive member of GFA presented the man of the match award to Alreach Peixito of Chandor club.

PANAJIClube De Salgaocar and Geno FC settled for a 1-1 draw in a dramatic opening clash of the Goa Professional League at Duler Stadium on Saturday.
