The much-anticipated I-League clash between Real Kashmir FC and Dempo Sports will take center stage on Sunday at 2 PM at the TRC Polo Ground in Kashmir. The match is crucial for both teams as they aim to climb up the standings.
Currently sitting in sixth place, Real Kashmir are coming off a much-needed 3-1 win over SC Bengaluru, snapping a five-game winless streak. Meanwhile, Dempo, in eighth place, have struggled recently with just four points from their last six matches. Despite a strong start to the season, the Golden Eagles are hoping to bounce back with a win.
Dempo’s coach Samir Naik remains hopeful despite injuries to key players Darryl Costa, Daniel M, and midfielder Damian Perez Roa. However, the Golden Eagles have strengthened their attack with the addition of Nigerian striker Lukman Adefemi.
Naik stated, “I hope our preparations for this match will be special. It will be a tough game, but we need to approach every match with strength and enthusiasm.” He also acknowledged the pressure to avoid dropping more points in the race for a better league position.
On the other hand, Real Kashmir’s head coach Ishfaq Ahmed emphasized his team’s focus on securing all three points. “We are giving this match our full attention. Dempo is a well-organized team, and we expect a tough contest,” said Ahmed.
