Goa has been awarded the maximum matches, including two quarterfinals and both the semifinals, of the FIFA under-17 Women’s World Cup as per the schedule announced on Wednesday.
The Nehru Stadium, Fatorda will host 16 of the 32 matches of the marquee tournament to be played from October 11-30. Goa has been awarded quarterfinal 3 and quarterfinal 4 (on October 22) and semifinal 1 and semifinal 2 (on October 26). The DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai will host 10 matches, including the final on October 30 while the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar is the third venue. India will play all their group matches (October 11, 14 & 17) in Bhubaneswar.
A total of 32 games contested by 16 teams will decide the winner of the seventh edition of the biennial youth tournament over 10 matchdays, with each venue hosting double headers on each matchday. The official draw of the tournament will be held on June 24.
