GGL Veterans move into quarterfinals

GGL Veterans made short work of Miracles Boys Mobor Veterans 3-1 and moved into the quarterfinal of the 1st Our Lady of Fatima Sports Club Veterans Cup organised by Our Lady of Fatima Sports Club, Baida-Chinchinim at Our Lady of Hope Church ground, Chinchinim on Sunday.

In the first half, GGl scored a goal in the 10th minute through a free kick by Cruz Pereira. In the 18th minute, Miracles Boys equalised through Joe Rodrigues who netted with a powerful shot. In the second session, GGl scored two quick goals hrough Cruz Pereira (48th and 56th minutes).

MARGAOAyush Nilesh Shirodkar (1528) of Salcete taluka won the Category C (Below 1600) Rating chess tournament at Gitam University in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh which concluded recently. The tournament was part of the Grandmaster event. Ayush drew with Raghav V of Tamil Nadu in the last round to remain unbeaten. In the penultimate round, he beat Samarateja K of Telngana.
