Rosary College of Commerce & Arts from Navelim claimed victory over St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, with a final score of 1-0 in the Goa University inter-collegiate football championship held at the Goa University ground. The match was tightly contested, with both teams unable to score in the first half. The breakthrough came in injury time when S. Fernandes netted the winning goal for Rosary College.
In the second match, Goa College of Engineering (GEC), Farmagudi, decisively defeated Goa Dental College 4-0. GEC established dominance early in the game, scoring two goals in the first half: Aryan Carvalho found the net in the 23rd minute, followed by Ketan Khandeparkar in the 27th minute. The second half saw Carvalho score again in the 57th minute, and Piyush Mawiya added another in the 65th minute, solidifying GEC's victory.
The third match featured the Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Khandola, triumphing over PES’s Ravi S. Naik College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi, with a score of 3-0. Manish Gaude opened the scoring in the 18th minute, and the second half saw Suyash Chodankar score two additional goals in the 46th and 56th minutes.
At Rosary Church Ground, CES’s College of Arts & Commerce, Cuncolim, defeated Vidya Prabodhini College, Porvorim, 3-0. Saish Gaonkar set the tone early with a goal in the 2nd minute, while Akshay Velip added two more goals in the 36th and 48th minutes to secure the win.
The second match saw Dhempe College of Arts & Science, Miramar, advance past PG Goa University in a thrilling sudden-death tiebreaker, winning 6-5 after the match ended in a 2-2 draw. PG Goa University initially took the lead in the 6th minute through Dutta Nikam, but Dhempe equalized with Shashank Kenkre’s goal in the 33rd minute. Dhempe went ahead again in the 58th minute, only for P.G. to equalize shortly after. In the tiebreaker, Dhempe converted 6 goals, while P.G. scored 5.
In the third match, Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science, Margao, showcased a dominant performance against VP's Mandre College, winning 4-0. The first half featured goals from Shanon Furtado in the 3rd minute and a hat-trick from Adarsh Raj, who scored in the 17th, 24th, and 41st minutes to secure a comprehensive victory.
