Saligao Sparx emerged as champions after an undefeated winning streak in the finals of Goa's first Women's 3-a-side tournament, organised by KJs and Sonics Basketball Club, at Youth Hostel, Miramar.
Saligao Sparx beat Margao Marauders 6-1 in the final match with Sarah Hussain leading the team and emerging the highest scorer of the tournament.
Saligao Sparx played Siolim Wildcats in the semifinals, emerging victorious with an 8-2 score.
In the second semi-final, Margao Marauders and Miramar Queens went neck to neck, with Margao Marauders ultimately scoring a winning basket before the buzzer, and finishing 5-4. In the match for 3rd place, Miramar Queens trumped Siolim Wildcats, securing a place in the top 3 with an 8-3 final score.
The matches concluded with a thunderstorm and a prize-winning ceremony indoors. Bhawna Pachouri, gold and silver national medalist presented the players and the teams with the prizes.
