Shrimati HS easily chased down a 43-run target. In the third-place match, St Theresa HS, Candolim defeated Gurukul HS, Khola Canacona by seven wickets, overhauling a target of 49. Navelim Sporting enter last-eight
Navelim Sporting Club made short work of Dicarpale SC 3-1 to enter the last-eight stage of the Holy Cross Trophy inter-village football tournament played at Vodlemoll Kakoda ground. Leading by two goals at the breather, Prestley Gomes, Nash Pereira and Clinton scored for Navelim Sporting while Jaison Vales netted for Dicarpale.
Varca blank Fr Agnel to reach quarters
Varca SC beat Fr Agnel YSC Paroda 2-0 to enter the quarterfinals of the St Rock Super Soccer inter-village football tournament played at Calata Majorda ground on Saturday. Varca netted both goals through Yunal Fernandes in the 67th and 76th minutes.
Amit brace powers Cortalim Gymkhana
Cortalim Gymkhana defeated debutants Ace Soccer Academy Sports and Cultural Club 2-1 in an evenly balanced Round 3 match of the GFA Third Division League played at the Tilak Maidan, Vasco on Saturday. Cortalim were leading by a solitary at half-time, scored by their dashing striker Amit Naik. In the second half, Amit scored for Cortalim while Prem Chauhan reduced the margin for Ace Soccer Academy.
GCA trials for U-19 girls' team on May 6
PANAJI: Goa Cricket Association will conduct open selection trials for the Under-19 girls' State team for the season 2023-24. The trials will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 9.30 am at GCA ground, Porvorim.
The candidate should be born on or after 1/9/2004. The players should come in cricket attire along with their kit. They have to carry their original birth certificate along with them. For any queries, contact GCA office on 0832-2416844.
Selection trials for bodybuilding worlds in Goa
The selection trials for the country’s top male and female bodybuilding and physique sports athletes will be held on June 3 & 4 for the 13th South Asian Body Building & Physique Sports Championship 2023 (July 5-9), 55th Asian Body Building & Physique Sports Championship (September 1-7) at Kathmandu, Nepal and 14th WBPF World Body Building & Physique Sports Championship (Movember 6-12). More than 300 athletes and 50 officials, from all over the country will participate in the two-day trials.
