Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club will organise their annual inter-village football tournament, the 23rd edition of Vagator Soccer 2023.
The tournament will commence on July 16 with the inaugural match between defending champions Assonora United Football Club and Saligao United at 4.30 pm at Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club ground, Vagator. The finals of the 16-team tournament will be played on August 6.
The participating teams are Assonora United Football Club, Saligao United, Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda, Augustias Sporting Club Pomburpa, St Savio Sports Club Calangute, Pilerne Sports Club, PVC Association, Youth Sports Club of Colvale, Rossman Cruz Nagoa Sports Club Verna, St Sebastian Sports Club Mapusa, Nerul Sports Club, St Anthony's Sports Club Marna-Siolim, Goa Velha Sports Club, Guardian Angel Sports Club Curchorem, ABC Sports Club Arambol and hosts Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club.
The winners will take home a cash prize of Rs 80,000 and the championship trophy while the runners-up will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 60,000 and a trophy. Other individual prizes will be awarded. A Man of the Match prize will be awarded to the best player on the field in every match while there are special attractions for Housie on all match days.
