Colva Veterans secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Orlim Veterans in the ongoing CLCAC committee tournament, at the Vaddie ground. The tournament is held under the patronage of Captain Venzy Viegas, MLA of Benaulim constituency.
Sheilu Jose emerged as the star player for Colva netting a dazzling hat-trick. Rony Fernandes added another goal to solidify their lead. Orlim Veterans managed a consolation goal through Giridhar but it was not enough to prevent their defeat.
In the second match, Varca Veterans edged out Benaulim A Veterans 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out after a goalless draw in regulation time. The tension remained high as Benaulim B Veterans narrowly defeated Carmona Veterans 5-4 again decided by a penalty shoot-out.
All three matches showcased intense competition and impressive skills by the veteran players, highlighting their unwavering passion for the sport.
