Margao MLA Digambar Kamat on Thursday inaugurated the changing rooms of the playground at Sirvodem-Margao. Built at an estimated cost of Rs 46 lakh, the dressing rooms was inaugurated by Kamat in the presence of Margao Municipal Chairperson Damu Shirodkar, Ward Councilor Mahesh Amonkar and local citizens.
Addressing the media, Kamat said the playground was built during his tenure as the Chief Minister of Goa by acquiring land for the purpose. “There was a demand from the locals to provide the changing room facility at the ground. We have also laid a pipeline and the compound wall has also been repaired”, he said. To a question, Kamat said the upkeep and maintenance of the ground and the facilities is the responsibility of the Sports Authority of Goa.
