A lounge and café ‘The Pier Seaside Bistro’ were inaugurated at Vasco at the hands of Shripad Naik, Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping and Waterways of India. The fine dining restaurant at ‘The Pier’ named Tarvoti was inaugurated by Rajiv Jalota IAS, chairman, Mumbai Port Trust and Mormugao Port Trust. The restaurant will be serving coastal and Mughlai cuisine. The restaurant was named to honour Goan seafarers who conquer the high seas and are known as ‘Tarvoti’. A sky bar and lounge space named Starboard was also declared open by Capt James Braganza, Captain of Ports Panaji. Kiran Thakur, chairman, Lokmanya Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society, Capt Nitin Dhond MD, Angriya Sea Eagle Ltd and Leena Kamat Prabhu, vice chairman of Angriya, officials from the customs department, MPT, immigration, JSW, Adani, J M Baxi, Goa Tourism were among those who attended the event.
