MAPUSA: The Assagao Union High School recently celebrated Van Mahotsav, the annual tree-planting festival on the school premises. A student of Class X, Krishi Parab set the tone for the day’s festivities. Students wholeheartedly embraced the spirit of Van Mahotsav by acquiring a diverse selection of saplings, including medicinal plants and ornamental varieties. With the assistance of the Scout Guide unit of the school, they planted the saplings.
The Forest Department Ashvem, represented by Ranger Forest Officer Joseph Fernandes and Officer Gourish Gaonkar, also graced the event with their tree-planting endeavours and inspiring students to champion environmental causes.
Lions Club Mapusa and Lions Club Assagao also joined the celebrations. The presence of the Assagao Panchayat played a vital role in ensuring the success of the event.
