As Goa, India’s smallest state, comes to grip with growing migration and the identity politics around it, three stories unfold around pão, Goa’s unique bread - Stories of people dealing with migration, changing culture and the ever present need to earn a living. Produced in 2020, a 50-minute duration film ‘Bread and Belonging’ directed by Sonia Filinto will be screened on May 5 at Carpe Diem, Majorda. The film is in English, Konkani and Kannada with English subtitles. Sonia has worked as a producer on documentary films and television programming in Mumbai. A multi-medium creator and curator who divides her time between Mumbai and Goa, Sonia will interact with the audience after the screening.
