The Department of Geology of Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s college and Research Centre, Assagao, in association with the Geological Society of Goa organised a state level academic event, “Geosphere “ Where Geologists meet” in Geology on April 20. The conference was organised to provide the student’s an insight of various avenues available to them in the field of geology and to provide an opportunity to them to interact with eminent persons in Academia and Industry for their better prospects. The keynote address for the conference was delivered by Prof A G Dessai, Former Head and Professor at Department of Earth Sciences, Goa University. In his informative and factual presentation he clarified that haphazard tourism has led to overburden on existing limited resources of the state and expressed his concerns over the same. The conference was well attended with overwhelming response from more than 150 student participants from various educational institutes across the state.
