Goa Government Employees Association (GGEA) lauded and thanked Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for implementing the Old Pension Scheme for the employees covered under the National Pension Scheme in the State.Goa became the fifth state to implement the Old Pension Scheme to all Government employees. Employees who joined from 5/8/2005 have been demanding for the implementation of the scheme for the last 17 years. The GGEA had met with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on April 20 to place their demand for the implementation of the scheme whilst also discussing its benefits. Within 15 days the Government adopted the Old Pension Scheme which left the GGEA overjoyed as more than 24,000 employees will be able to avail the scheme.
All government employees who are covered under the new pension scheme will have to submit four original copies of the prescribed forms I and II on or before May 25.
