Quiz on Gandhi: 20 teams enter semis

Twenty teams representing thirteen schools from Goa have qualified for the semi-finals of quiz contest titled 'Life, Time and Legacy of Mahatma Gandhi' jointly organized by Rotary Club of Margao and Marg Trust.

The preliminary round of the quiz was held on September 25, wherein 293 teams representing 100 schools had participated. The semi-finals will be conducted on September 29 and 30, between 10 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm for a set of 5 teams each from the 20 selected for the semi-finals. The top four teams of each semi-final will directly qualify for the finals. The fifth team for the finals will be chosen from the highest scoring team amongst teams finishing at second place in all semi-finals.

The guidelines and rules for the semi-finals that will be online are communicated individually to the team members with their respective schools. In case any of the top 20 teams qualifying for semi-finals are unable to participate due to any reason, teams from the reserve list will replace the outgoing ones. 

The following schools have qualified for the semi-finals.

Shri Nirakar Vidyalaya Mashem (2 teams), Loyola High School Margao (2 teams), Almeida High School Ponda (2 teams), Vivekananda Dnyanmandir Keri Sattari (2 teams, KB Hedgewar Vidhyalaya Tisk, Ponda (2 teams), New Educational Institute Curchorem (2 teams), Ravindra Kelekar Dnyanmandir (2 teams), KB Hedgewar High school Kujira (1 team), S S Samiti High School Dhavli (1 team), Mustifund High school Kujira (1 team), Shradhanand Vidhyalaya Paigunim (1 team), Sarvodaya High School Curchorem (1 team) and M and N High School Margao (1 team). The finals will be on October 2, 2020.
