Cortalim MLA and Former Minister for Environment and Forests Alina Saldanha demanded a thorough study to examine the destruction caused to Goa's biodiversity due to various projects promoted by the State government.
According to sources, Saldanha demanded that a committee be formed to do a thorough study of the destruction carried out presently in Goa.
She was speaking at the Peoples' Biodiversity Register Validation exercise held by the Goa State Biodiversity Board of the Villages of Chicalim and Sancoale. The PBR presentations took place at the Goa State Pollution Control Board conference room at Saligao. Members of the Chicalim and Sancoale BMC were present along with the Thematic Expert Committee of the GSBB on the occasion.
She was welcomed by Dr Pradeep Sarmokadam, Member Secretary of the Goa State Biodiversity Board.
