St Francis Xavier's Higher Secondary School Consumer Welfare Club organized a talk on Legal Metrology and packaged commodities for the students of Std XI Arts and Science. Resource persons were Inspectors Vikas Kandolkar and Swizel Colaco of the Legal Metrology Dept, Goa government. Kandolkar spoke on the legalities in the consumer market with regards to weights and measures, packaging, pricing, advertising, mandatory enforcements, etc. An awareness was created with a live demo of various products, their requirements and the illegalities happening in the consumer market. They made the students aware of their rights as consumers and the role they can play. Principal Fr Santow John reminded the students to take benefit of the talk and to be vigilant consumers.Teacher Annamarie Remedios introduced the Resource persons. Coordinator of the Consumer Welfare Club teacher Sandhya Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks. A total of 220 students benefitted.
