Fr Fernandes gets doctorate in Biblical Theology

Fr Simião Purificação Fernandes, Director of Pastoral Institute St Pius X at Old Goa, defended his doctoral dissertation on ‘The Human Family: A Relationship Based Institution and a School of Communion’ on December 10, 2021.

It is an Exegetico-Theological Study in the light of Luke 2:41-52 and the Conciliar and Post-Conciliar Teachings in response to the Pastoral Challenges from the Goan Context.
The Doctorate is awarded by Jnana Deepa, Institute of Philosophy and Theology, Pune. The guide was Prof. Dr Thomas Malipurathu SVD.
Fr Fernandes has a Licentiate in Sacred Scripture from Pontificio Istituto Biblico, Rome, and is a visiting lecturer in many theological and biblical institutes in and outside the Archdiocese.
