Two persons were nabbed in Shirdi on Saturday on charges of stealing a rent-a-cab from Vasco.
According to Vasco Police Inspector Kapil Nayak, two persons, Aadesh Kumar (30) and Manoj Singh age (29) both from Haryana, had come to Goa and had hired a rent-a-cab (GA06-T-6847) on March 3 near Sai Baba temple in Vasco for four days. They, however, fled away with the car.
“After conducting a meticulous investigation, a team led by PSI Mayur Sawant and comprising Santosh Bhatkar and Naeem Shaikh managed to apprehend the accused at Shirdi and recover the stolen vehicle. Both accused were brought to Goa and arrested under Section 406 of IPC. They were produced before a JMFC court and have been remanded to two days in custody,” said PI Nayak.
PSI Mayur Sawant is carrying out further investigation under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
