4 injured in 2 road mishaps in Ponda

PANAJI:

Four persons were injured in two separate road mishaps in Ponda taluka.

In one incident, scooter driver Kunal Ambhore (18) of Tisk Usgao, and pillion rider Shreya Sirsat (17) of Pratapnagar-Dharbandora were injured when their scooter collided with a truck which was turning on the road at Kerye-Khandepar.

The two injured riders were shifted to the Ponda Sub District hospital, from where they were later referred to the GMC hospital in Bambolim. Ponda police conducted a panchnama of the accident.

In the second incident, a scooter rider, Savita Borkar and pillion rider Ayushi Borkar both residents of Tarvalem-Shiroda were injured in a road mishap at Borim Circle on November 22.

In her complaint, Ayushi Ajit Borkar accused Laxmikant Naik of Khajorda-Borim of riding his scooter in a rash manner while proceeding from Khajorda to Margao and at the Borim Circle, suddenly turned his scooter without taking proper care and collided with their scooter.

Ponda police has registered an offence under Sections 277,125 (a) BNS and Head Constable Raghunath Gawas is conducting further investigations.

This is the Church of Sancoale, where the son of the soil Saint Joseph Vaz, wrote the famous bondage letter dedicating his life into the hands of Blessed Virgin Mary. The Church was established by the Jesuits in 1600 but in 1834 the church was struck by lightning and some part of it was destroyed.…
