Porvorim Police have registered a case against a person from Caranzalem and others on charges of fraudulently grabbing 5,700 sq. mtrs of land of the Serula Comunidade.
North Goa Administrator of Comunidades Sagar Gaude has lodged a complaint in the matter stating that the land grab took place some time before August 2005.
The accused allegedly produced forged documents of 5,700 sq. mtrs of land in Serula Comunidade in the name of a couple.
The documents were presented as genuine to various government officials and the plot was transferred in the name of the prime accused.
After noticing the forgery and fraud, the North Goa Administrator of Comunidades filed a complaint with Porvorim Police on April 13.
Accordingly, the police registered a case under Sections 465, 468, 471, 420, 120 (b) and 34 of IPC against the accused. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Sitaram Malik.
Meanwhile, the accused has applied for anticipatory bail in the district court to avoid arrest in the case.
