The Anjuna Police have apprehended a suspect in connection with a theft case amounting to Rs 3.5 lakh.
According to complainant Hardeep Singh (40), the incident occurred between 3 am to 4 am on April 14 at a wine shop located in Anjuna.
Singh said that Yash Chhatrisha (24), a native of Nasik and an employee at the wine shop, allegedly stole liquor bottles valued at Rs 1.5 lakh along with cash amounting to Rs 2 lakh.
Promptly responding to the complaint, the Anjuna Police, under the leadership of PI Prashal Dessai, aided by PSI Ramesh Harijan, police constable Mahendra Mandrekar, and Gurudas Sangelkar, launched an investigation into the matter.
Subsequently, the police successfully traced the accused and managed to recover a portion of the stolen cash and liquor bottles.
Anjuna police have initiated legal proceedings against the accused under Section 381 of the Indian Penal Code. Police are investigating further.
