2 injured as tree falls on 2 houses in Chapora

MAPUSA

A woman and her minor daughter were injured when a tree collapse on two houses in Dabholwada-Chapora late Monday evening. The damage to both houses has been estimated at Rs 3 lakh.

According to reports, the incident took place at about 7, when a mango tree in the courtyard of the house fell on the house of two brothers, Manohar Parab and Satyawan Parab.

At the time of the incident, Pramila Parab (45) and her daughter Anisha (12) were seated in the verandah of the house.

Both sustained injuries in the mishap and received medical treatment.

A Mapusa fire brigade and local panchayat member Surendra Govekar rushed to the spot.

Under the supervision of fire officer Ashok Parab, firefighters cleared the fallen tree.

Govekar said both houses were badly damaged and said the loss is estimated at Rs 3 lakh.
