OLD GOA
Ponda local John Mascarenhas has filed a complaint with the Old Goa Police over charging of pay parking fees in Tourism Department’s Old Goa property.
In his complaint, Mascarenhas has demanded action against those responsible for trespassing into the property by breaking open the lock of the gate and using the property for accepting pay parking fees from tourists.
Mascarenhas further pointed out that he made inquiries with a top Tourism Department official to confirm whether a pay parking tender was awarded.
“However, that official told me that no such tender has been awarded and that the gate was locked,” Mascarenhas informed The Goan.
Mascarenhas then informed that he has urged the police to take action against the persons responsible for trespassing into tourism department’s property and collecting illegal parking fees.
