The Goa State Pollution Control Board has granted the six mines consent to operate overruling objections raised by the Goa Foundation over the validity of their environmental clearances.
The decision taken at a board meeting on Monday involves two mines in Codli, one each in Kevona, Sigao, Sirigao and Velguem Surla.
Among the six mines, five have environmental clearances granted under the 1994 notification and consent was delayed on account of the objections raised before the Pollution Board on the validity of the Environmental Clearance.
