MARGAO
With the implementation of the e-filing system causing hardships to the legal fraternity, the South Goa Advocates Association have resolved to seek permission from the concerned authorities for physical filing to continue alongside e-filing until the online filing system is properly streamlined, the technical difficulties are resolved, adequate infrastructure is provided and the concerned staff are properly trained.
Several members informed the General Body that they are facing difficulties even at the registration stage of the e-filing process, as a result of which advocates are at times unable to successfully file matters online.
The members also raised concerns regarding inadequately trained staff, as well as the lack of proper infrastructure and facilities in the courts, including reliable internet/Wi-Fi connectivity, which are essential for the effective implementation of an online filing system.
The Association reiterated that it is not opposed to technological 3/4 vanceme e-filing, but the implementation of any such system must be undertaken manner that does not cause prejudice or hardship to advocates, litigants or members of the public.
President Clovis said the Association remains committed to raising genuine issues affecting the legal fraternity and ensuring that adequate facilities are provided for the smooth and efficient administration of justice.
